Christus
Jesus Christ is the only mediator and the only ground of our salvation.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
¶ What does it mean?
The work of Jesus Christ is enough to atone for the sins of the world. Salvation is found in no other name. No one comes to the Father except through Him. He is our High Priest who constantly advocates for us before God and acts as our mediator.
¶ What does it deny?
It denies that anyone else must stand between the sinner and God in order to finish what Christ finished. Pastors serve the church. Saints may be remembered with thanks. They cannot share his mediation.

- Acts 4:12There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
- Hebrews 7:25He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing he lives forever to make intercession for them.
¶ Why does it matter?
Christ alone is your savior. No other person shares his glory with him. This means God alone is worthy of worship.
